The History of Madsen Trucking
Marble Store-
Our team got its start as the mighty Marble Store in 1993. Two men known to us as Cory and Wayne joined - they were the
first on the team that were worth mentioning. The Marble Store went on to lose over and over.
In 1994 Dave, Jim, and Tim
joined the team of misfits and unathletic lard. They went on to lose over and over.
In 1995 Mike , Jeremy, Dough,
Chad, Jason, and John joined the Marble Store and other than a 16-1 Win over Vlamincks they went on to lose over and over.
In 1996, Dave offically
took over as GM for the Marble Store. The team added Gord and still went on to go 0-42 that year.
In 1997 we added our most
productive group ever. Brad, Reed, and Rosey. Not only did we get our first ever tournament win but we also went an astounding
13-36.
In 1998, we added Bone to
the roster and improved to 14-29. Toward the end of the year we had a contract dispute with our sponser ( we were not
getting any monatary support ). We decided to ask Bruce Madsen if he would do the honor of sponsering us and he
said........

Madsen Trucking-
...Thats right,
he said I guess.
In 1999, we added Brandon, Jamall,
and Pete. 1999 was a big year for us. For the first time we competed in two leagues: Canby and Dawson. We finished the year
36-32 -- above .500 for the first time. It was a banner year for the Truckers.
In 2000 we added Tater to our great
team. We finished the year 32-35.
In 2001 with many of the regulars
now finding lives out side of softball we had a hard time getting guys to show up. We added Brady, Diablo, Mark, Rich, and
Sean. We dropped to 26-42 overall.
In 2002 we hoped to greatly improve
on 2001, and we would have but we never were able to put our best team on the field, we never had our best group assembled
for a game all year, This team with the addition of Tony, Tommy, Bj, and Ryan could have been very good but instead we finished
with a 23 - 35 record. We lost 14 games by 5 runs or less.
We were hoping for great things
in 2003, with the addition of Depyper, Syltie, Ben, Ricky, Randy, and Duane. We inproved slightly to 21-30. Agian the major
problem was lackluster attendence.
In 2004 we added Lance, Jeremy,
Joe, and Andy. We also competed in the Madison League for the first time where we captured the league and tournament
championship. We ended the year with a record of 26 and 40. The year was filled with many ups and downs.
In 2005 we literally faught our
way to another Madison League championship and overall improved greatly with a record of 34-37. Chuck, Logan, and Poncho were
added to many return players to provide some consistancy that we have lacked for the last 5 years. A big contributer to our
success in 2005 was the return of the Famous Jimmer Zahnow who ran rupshot over the softball leagues until his untimely breaking
of both his wrists.
Our 2006 campain brought us our
third strait season championship in Madison as well as a second place finish in the Madison League tournament. We took in
some youthful players in Alex and Brady while also adding some old faces such as Tim. We finished the year with a 31 and 43
record.
The 2007 season brought in more
veterans such as Pete and Reed. We failed in our bid to 4 peat in Madison and finished with a 22-40 record. We are looking
to be great in 2008.
The 2008 Season saw an improved and younger defense
for the Truckers, with the additions of Ben, Jeremy, and defensive guru Kyle Mamer. Our offensive output dipped as we failed
to have consistency in the line up. This has been the major problem with the truckers this decade. Next year we look to find
our consistency as well as our bats. We will be fine in 2009.
We were fine in 09 with some early and mid
season success. Our Young guns agian provided some consistent defense and next year in 2010 they will be there agian. We just
have to teach them to hit now.
In 2010 we were able to boost our run production
but our defense and attendance agian did not help our situation. This has been a consistent problem after the original
Group moved on to bigger and better things. With Bruce busy working for the man some call "JAY" we went looking for money
else where. Our plan to be sponsored by an Australian cold Weather gear and scubba diving company fell through,
so a local business woman offered to step in. We did have to offer one of our players for services, but negotiations
went well and now.....
Bormann Accounting
In
our first year as Bormann Accounting, in 2011, we were agian plagued by poor attendance with the combination of old people
and young people both with better things to do. We must find a way out of this situation or we risk being contracted as a
franchise.
In 2012 we were at times able
to put a somewhat consistant lineup on the field. We were able to enlist the help of a very old second basemen that allowed
us to have to oldest double play combination in the area no matter who we put at first base. We are hoping to put it all together
in 2013 to have a banner year.
2013 -2015 we struggled to put together consistent lineups and this provided depressing results. In 2016 we rejoined the Madison
Softball league, and reaped immediate benefits from playing more. We combined veterans with a new crop of players to have
our second season with a positive run differential, and our second season above .500. High lights included winning the Madison
League Season and Tournament titles, and winning the Porter Harvest Festival Tournament.
In 2017 we were disappointed that the Madison League was no longer a go. We could immediately feel the impact of playing only
once a week. We completed a successful season including third place finishes in both the Porter Harvest Festival Tournament
and the Canby League Tournament.
